Living on the Ledge

So this is what's up...ledges. Specifically wall ledges.

Not only are these puppies fabulicious but they are uber-functional. You can use one to create a frame gallery, display your cork collection, store your kid's Beanie Babies, or show off your favorite books. The possibilities are endless! Seriously, I betcha ten thousand points you could think of something awesome to do with these in your own home.

I picked up three at my local Pottery Barn outlet a while back for my dining room. Since the space was too small for a buffet and a china cabinet, these ledges provided a perfect solution for storing (and showing off) my beautiful Lenox.

The ones I bought are called the Holman Ledge and are just lovely! The price however makes me smile less than a SAW movie. Which is why I was very excited to share this news:

IKEA IS STEPPIN' OUT ON A LEDGE :)

That's right my fine friends - Ikea now has the Ribba ledge...comes in black or white and they have three different sizes. Picked one up myself this past weekend! Love it, adore it, lick it occasionally. Best part is that the price is no Dog the Bounty Hunter, if you know what I mean...

Let's face it, ledges rock...also Ledgers rock as in Heath as in the Joker as in Oscar booyah as in that's all I got. So go on, live on the ledge! You'll thank me, I promise.

I love the look of floating shelves/ledges. My only concern is the extra dusting. How often do you have to clean off your china?

Pretty much the same as the Stipa / Stripa (?)ledges they used to do except more expensive. How rude of them.

Your ledges look fab!

I love ledges and my husband makes fun of me as I always think they are solutions! You do your ledges proud.

Heidi - Let's just be honest here, 'kay? I don't dust. I rarely clean my house. I am, however, blessed with a very lovely boyfriend...need I say more?!

When I do go to actually use the china though, I give it a quick wipedown with a cheesecloth towel...just in case :)

XO - Katie

Love your blog about ledges. More than that though, love your humor. And it is hard to make me laugh :-)

I love ledges like that. I give you a ton of credit for putting plates on them. I would be too scared to do so.

I love ledges too. I have a trio of them that I haven't put up because I never found which of my moving boxes contains the hardware...whoops!

I think you're brave too for putting your china up there! (At least the plates.) I might have to try that...I don't have room for a china cabinet, but I really want to display my china.

Have I told you lately that I love you?

Yes....

Well, I'm telling you again. I love your ledges and covet some of my own. Now, I think I can get some. YIPPO

I love ledges. I first fell very hard for them when G&D did her little photo wall number. :)
Also... thank you for admitting that you're not a fanatic duster and must wipe the china clean before using it. :) You rock, you know?
